PRODUCT

Named after the mythological Greek giant who was invincible only as long as his feet remained on the ground, ANTAEUS is an intense yet subtle, smooth and rich fragrance that tells the story of a hero both virile and vulnerable. An aromatic, leather-accented scent—the symbol of a powerful, sensitive masculinity.

COMPOSITION

A striking alchemy of fresh lavender and a rare and complex leather accord, heightened with woody and spicy notes. Its spirited, intriguing trail is enriched with accents of cistus labdanum, clary sage and Indonesian patchouli.

Not for the faint of heart, this fragrance is a monster. It hits you immediately out of the bottle and you start to think "Am I going to smell like this all night?" Think wet forest and wet animals. Then it dries down and all the softer notes shine.

When I walk into a room wearing Antaeus, folks notice. I use it conservatively and it lasts! Not too spicy, fruity or flowery. I guess it is less popular than the other scents for men - not available anywhere but online and I'm grateful for that!

I've worn this classic men's fragrance for almost 40 years. It is one of the best gifts I've ever used. It has staying power, beautiful aroma, and un air de masculinité. I've tried others and always come back to Antaeus.

I can smell the Antaeus DNA that I always use, but I am disappointed by the short duration and sillage that this obviously reformulated perfume has. I am disappointed that you charge such a high price for a perfume that has lost its quality. Just because it is Chanel does not mean that you should charge more for reformulated perfumes that lose quality. I am so disappointed in you.

Great classic--my signature for years. Saddened by Chanel's cheap packaging lately though. Much higher prices now for cheaper, less classy presentation. They used to pack the cologne nicely in a re-usable bag INSIDE a re-usable box. Now they cheap-out with just the box or just the bag. And they charge an extra $25 from a year ago.
