Description

Reversible 18-carat yellow gold medal set with 74 brilliant-cut diamonds totalling at least 1.01 carats, a 0.21-carat centre diamond in a prong setting and a natural, untreated black jade on one side, as well as a 0.10-carat box-set centre diamond on the reverse.

On one side, Gabrielle Chanel’s most cherished symbols are brought together for the first time on a jewellery piece: the comet, the camellia, the number 5, and the lion. On the other, letters spelling the name of the House are revealed through a play of light and shadow. Created using a laser-engraving technique borrowed from watchmaking expertise, they appear in an endless design, like a bas-relief. At the ends of the chains, a comet and a plaque engraved with Mademoiselle’s handwritten signature become apparent.
