In the case that a stone or pearl is lost, we recommend a stone or pearl replacement service to return your jewelry piece to its original beauty.

All the clasps on CHANEL Fine Jewelry pieces are made of gold. As gold is a soft metal, it naturally wears over time. A clasp replacement or adjustment is recommended when it is showing signs of wear or damage.

The silk thread of your CHANEL Fine Jewelry piece may become slack under the weight of pearls or from various chemical agents in some fragrances and cosmetics. A pearl restringing is recommended every year in order to preserve the condition of your Fine Jewelry piece.

Resizing is a difficult operation that requires great know-how and a deep study of the piece. This service is not available for every piece of Fine Jewelry and is dependent on the design. It is recommended to limit the number of times the same model is resized.

It is possible to engrave a name or message on the precious metal of a Fine Jewelry piece. This service is not available for every piece, as it depends on the available surface area.

Each jewelry piece is carefully cleaned with soft brushes and specially adapted tools. If the nature of the stone allows, the CHANEL jewelry workshop will use ultrasound waves to clean the less accessible parts.

*Certain stones such as emeralds, tanzanites and pearls are excluded from ultrasound cleaning, as they are too delicate for ultrasound waves.

Jewelers carefully study each piece of jewelry in order to determine which intervention should be carried out.

Different techniques exist regarding the resizing of CHANEL Fine Jewelry pieces. Sales associates are at your disposal to give you advice and recommend the most adapted technique.

After being carefully cleaned, pearls are strung one by one on a new silk thread.

For some creations, CHANEL Fine Jewelry will use the knot-stringing method to limit friction between pearls and keep them from being lost if the silk thread breaks.

With every service, all gem settings on the Fine Jewelry piece are meticulously examined. Each damaged setting is replaced in order to avoid losing a stone.

Every white gold piece of jewelry is covered by a thin layer of rhodium to perfect the finish and enhance brilliance. This layer of rhodium is removed by polishing, a technique also used for gold and platinum pieces of jewelry in order to reduce scratches. Polishers use brushes and rollers, used one after the other to obtain a perfectly polished finishing.

During polishing, a slight layer of material is removed. Therefore, successive polishing can alter the surface condition and edges of your piece of jewelry. We recommend that you do not request this service more than three times for each Fine Jewelry piece.

After the old layer of rhodium has been removed, the jewelry piece is immersed in rhodium, resulting in a new layer that will revive the brilliance and color of white gold.
