Nghệ sĩ thị giác
Ho Tzu Nyen (được sinh ra và hiện sống ở Singapore) hoạt động ở các mảng sản xuất hình ảnh động, video, trình diễn và sắp đặt. Anh sử dụng và tái tạo lại những câu chuyện huyền thoại và lịch sử để khám phá cách hiện thực và lịch sử được ghi nhận.
Phần lớn tác phẩm của anh liên quan đến Singapore, thuộc địa cũ của Anh và hiện là một quốc đảo đa văn hóa. Vượt ra ngoài phạm vi của Singapore, nội dung tác phẩm của Ho đã bắt đầu kết hợp các huyền thoại và lịch sử của các nền văn hóa khác ở Đông Nam Á và Đông Á.
“Tôi không biết giai đoạn tiếp theo trong hoạt động sáng tác nghệ thuật của mình sẽ thế nào,” anh nói. “Nhưng tôi sẵn sàng tiến bước nhờ những điều kiện thuận lợi giải thưởng này mang lại.”
Ho đại diện cho Singapore tại sự kiện Venice Biennale lần thứ 54, đồng thời anh cũng tổ chức các triển lãm cá nhân trưng bày các tác phẩm của mình tại Bảo tàng Nghệ thuật Thành phố Toyota, Nhật Bản (2021), Trung tâm Nghệ thuật và Truyền thông Yamaguchi, Nhật Bản (2021), tại Kunstverein Hamburg, Đức (2018), tại Bảo tàng Guggenheim ở Bilbao, Tây Ban Nha (2015), và tại Bảo tàng Nghệ thuật Mori, Tokyo (2012).
Một cuộc triển lãm có tên gọi Ho Tzu Nyen: Time & the Tiger đã quy tụ các tác phẩm trong hai thập kỷ của anh, mở cửa tại Bảo tàng Nghệ thuật Singapore vào năm 2023. Năm nay, triển lãm sẽ đến Trung tâm Nghệ thuật Sonje ở Seoul và Bảo tàng Nghệ thuật Hessel ở New York trước khi đến Bảo tàng Nghệ thuật Đương đại Mudam của Luxembourg vào năm 2025. Anh cũng có một triển lãm cá nhân, với tên gọi A for Agents, được tổ chức tại Bảo tàng Nghệ thuật Đương đại Tokyo vào tháng 4 năm 2024.
