Resistance tests
In a laboratory at the CHANEL Watch Manufacture, each CHANEL watches undergoes an extensive series of demanding tests to ensure its resistance and durability. Here are photos of this control protocol that methodically checks each component.
Shock

Direct or indirect, shock is measured in g-force and corresponds to the acceleration received by the timepiece. The tests carried out at the CHANEL Watch Manufacture reproduce an acceleration of up to 5,000 g.
Torsion-traction of the bracelet

This mechanical test artificially ages the various components at an accelerated rate, according to a method that combines a tensile force with a rotational torque. It is used to check the durability of the watch.
