N°5 L'eau
The fresh N°5
N°5 L’EAU is a vibrant abstract floral.
Radiant Citrus top notes soar with aldehydes, followed by a floral whirlwind of Jasmine, Rose and Ylang-Ylang, and then the dynamic liveliness of Vetiver and Cedar.
DISTINGUISHING
FEATURES
In 1921, Gabrielle Chanel decided to create a fragrance unlike any other:
"A woman's perfume with the scent of a woman."
To fulfill her request, perfumer Ernest Beaux broke with the traditional codes of perfumery and presented her with an olfactory revolution.
Mademoiselle gave the scent a name like a code.
N°5
A name that made all others unfashionable.
In 2016, Olivier Polge, CHANEL In-House Perfumer Creator, reinvented N°5 by dissecting the original formula and taking hold of each ingredient to create an ideal balance of freshness.
GENEALOGY
To house N°5, Mademoiselle chose a simple laboratory bottle. A minimalist design that would highlight the fragrance.
The stopper, cut like a diamond, was inspired by the shape of the Place Vendôme in Paris. The lines of the now iconic classic bottle have remained virtually unchanged since its creation.
