CHANEL Jewellery watches are precious and fragile. They are water resistant but are not designed to be completely immersed in water. They are protected from dust, rain and splashing water. This protection is provided by a series of seals, which we recommend replacing every two years to ensure optimal protection.
The water resistance of your watch will be tested and renewed with each service performed by CHANEL workshops. A watch must never be worn in a sauna, Turkish bath, shower or bath as hot water may damage its water resistance seals.
CHANEL Fine Jewelry creations are made from the most precious materials and the rarest stones.
18K gold, which is gold of a millesimal fineness of 750, is the purest alloy used in jewelry. All CHANEL Fine Jewelry pieces are in either 18K gold or 950 platinum.
With a constant concern for quality, each precious stone is appraised by a gemologist to ensure that its characteristics meet the technical and aesthetic criteria of the Maison. This is how CHANEL Fine Jewellery offers exceptional stones that are among the most beautiful in the world.
1. Diamond
All diamonds selected by CHANEL Fine Jewellery experts are natural and untreated. CHANEL Fine Jewellery integrates the expertise of a gemmologist into its diamond selection process, who takes care to examine each stone according to the 4C quality criteria:
DIAMOND QUALITY CRITERIA (4C)
The diamond comes in various shades, from the so-called ""colorless"" diamond, whose color is assessed according to an internationally recognized scale, to the rare diamond of more or less saturated color, such as yellow, blue, pink, green...
The quality of a diamond depends on the perfect combination of four criteria, known as the ""4Cs"", which combine endlessly to make each stone unique:
Clarity:
The clarity of a diamond is determined by the number, size, position, and color of the inclusions visible in the stone. We judge its visibility with a magnifying glass x10.
Colour:
Generally speaking, the ideal diamond is characterized by the absence of color. Thus, the more colorless a diamond is, the more valuable and rarer it is.
An international standard assigns the letter D to the completely colorless diamond and declines the rest of the alphabet as a yellow or brown hue appears in the stone.
Cut:
The cut is the element that highlights all the qualities of the diamond and thus reveals the most beautiful balance between brilliance, fire and sparkle. This is the only criterion that depends directly on man since the others are dictated by nature. Excellent proportions combined with perfect symmetry of the facets make it possible to capture the light and express all the brilliance of a carefully selected stone.
Carat:
In reference to the carob seed used in antiquity to measure the weight of diamonds, it is expressed in carats according to an international standard dating from 1907. One carat corresponds to 0.20 grams. The weight of the diamonds can be more than 3.50ct.

CERTIFICATION
CHANEL Fine Jewellery accompanies any round diamond weighing 0.25ct or greater, with a fancy cut greater than or equal to 0.50ct as a center stone, and any colored diamond as a center stone, with a certificate from the internationally renowned GIA (""Gemmological Institute of America"") reference laboratory.
This certificate is a real identity card for the stone, including the mix of the 4Cs, but also a set of additional information.
2. Coloured gemstones
In a permanent quest for excellence, CHANEL Fine Jewellery selects only natural precious stones for its creations. Synthetic or imitation materials are not accepted in the House's collections. Certain treatments, recognized as traditional lapidary practices used historically in the stone market, can be accepted – such as the impregnation of emeralds by oiling or the heating of corundum (sapphires, rubies).
In order to guarantee the exceptional quality of the gems set in its creations, CHANEL Fine Jewellery can call on reference laboratories to analyze its creations. Their opinions contained in the gemmological reports are given in the current state of scientific knowledge."""
CHANEL encourages respect for strict ethical, social, and environmental principles in terms of sourcing. Each diamond sold in a CHANEL Fine Jewelry boutique comes from legal sources, in full compliance with the certification system of the Kimberley Process, as defined by the United Nations, and the World Diamond Council System of Warranties (SoW), which fight against “conflict diamonds.” Each diamond comes with a certificate of authenticity that attests to this.

The Responsible Jewellery Council is a non-profit organization whose objective is to promote responsible ethical, social, and environmental practices that respect human rights, throughout the entire jewelry supply chain. The history of CHANEL Fine Jewellery began one evening in 1932. At her private Faubourg Saint-Honoré mansion, Mademoiselle Chanel exhibited her first collection built around the twin themes of the Comet and the Diamond.
When CHANEL revived this activity in 1993, the collection paid homage to its origins in the form of reproductions and reinterpretations of the first pieces from the "Bijoux de Diamants" collection.
In 1997, the acquisition of one of the finest mansions in the Place Vendôme (situated at Number 18 in the famous square) and the creation of the Watches & Fine Jewellery Boutique seemed the natural conclusion to a secret itinerary that led Mademoiselle Chanel from her Faubourg Saint-Honoré mansion to Rue Cambon, and then on to the Ritz.
This move also marked CHANEL's appearance alongside its peers, the greatest names in fine jewellery. CHANEL Fine Jewellery demonstrates its coming of age through its constantly renewed creativity, forged around the fundamental symbols of the universe of Mademoiselle.
In 2007, CHANEL took luxury to a whole new level, always looking ahead to the future in the image of its founder, who used to say: "I want to be associated with what is yet to come."
Behind the elegant facade designed by Jules Hardouin-Mansart at 18 Place Vendôme, a new boutique now develops the major themes first proposed at that original exhibition held at Mademoiselle Chanel's mansion.
In 1993, we enlisted the services of an independent designer who was selected for his creativity and expertise that met CHANEL's stringent demands, and who was continually inspired by the world of Mademoiselle Chanel. In order to better consolidate and increase the growth of this activity, creation began within CHANEL starting in 2009. This decision gave CHANEL Fine Jewellery new momentum and helped definitively establish it among the most illustrious houses of the Place Vendôme.

For all purchases greater than 200 SEK, you can receive a tax refund on the day of purchase if you are a resident outside the European Union and are able to present your original passport. You must leave the European Union before the end of the third month following your purchase.
In this case, the boutique will give you a tax refund export sales form that you must have validated at the airport before checking your luggage at the PABLO terminal, or at your last exit point from the European Union.
The validated tax refund export sales form must be submitted to the partner of our tax refund service provider (PREMIER TAX FREE) for an immediate refund in cash (at airports or in the city center) at a rate of 11.7% of the purchase total (incl. tax), or directly to PREMIER TAX FREE by payment card or transfer at a rate of 13% of the purchase total (incl. tax).

You have 30 days from the date of purchase to return it in Sweden. If you do not return the product within the original country of purchase, Contact Us for more details on our international return policy.
Please note that you cannot return purchases made in France if the tax refund export sales form has already been validated by customs.
Each CHANEL Fine Jewellery piece is subject to the legal warranties currently in force. The following are not covered by these warranties:</br>
Damage resulting from accidents or from inappropriate or abusive use of a fine jewellery piece;
Damage resulting from repairs or dismantling not undertaken by a CHANEL Fine Jewellery Boutique;
The consequences of normal wear and the ageing of a fine jewellery piece.
CHANEL Jewellery watches have successfully passed the most rigorous reliability tests devised by Swiss watchmaking professionals. They are therefore guaranteed against all manufacturing defects for two years from the date of purchase marked on the International Guarantee Certificate. This guarantee is total (parts and labour).
However, these two guarantees exclude the following:
Damage caused by accidents or by misuse of the watch (violent shock, crushing, rough handling of the clasp, etc.);
Damage caused by repairs or dismantling not carried out by a CHANEL watchmaking workshop or an authorised CHANEL watchmaking workshop;
The consequences of normal use and ageing of the watch. It also excludes leather straps, given their specific nature.

For all repairs, we invite you to take your fine jewellery piece to the CHANEL Fine Jewellery Boutique of your choice. Any repair not carried out by a CHANEL Boutique, a CHANEL Fine Jewellery workshop, or an authorised CHANEL retailer exposes your fine jewellery piece to the risk of serious damage.</br>

An invoice is issued for each purchase. CHANEL does not issue any duplicate invoices or certificates of value, in accordance with the provisions stated in the terms and conditions for sale.
However, in the event of theft or loss of the product, it is possible to obtain a duplicate by providing supporting documents (copy of complaint form, affidavit, and a copy of your ID card).
