Symboles medal

Fine Jewellery CollectionCHANCE DE CHANEL

For Gabrielle Chanel, luck is not a chance occurrence, it is a state of mind. Inspired by this unique vision, the CHANEL Fine Jewellery Creation Studio has designed new reversible medals reminiscent of good luck charms for those who believe in their luck and dare to create it. The smallest details are expertly crafted, making each piece an expression of an exceptional savoir-faire, evident on both the front and the back. On one side, the House’s emblems unite, highlighted by yellow gold, diamonds and natural black jade: materials meticulously selected for their symbolic significance as well as their preciousness. On the other side, Mademoiselle’s signature is unveiled for the first time on a fine jewellery creation.

SYMBOLES Medal

Discover

Plucked from the jacket of a dandy in 1913, the camellia is a flower without scent or thorns that often appears in the House’s creations. Elegance without artifice according to Gabrielle Chanel.

Mademoiselle’s favourite number, the 5 is also the number of the essence she chose in 1921 and which went on to become the House’s legendary fragrance.

A symbol of courage, power and loyalty, the lion represents solar radiance. It is also Gabrielle Chanel’s astrological sign and her protective emblem.

A sign of hope and of dreams, the comet was the House’s first fine jewellery icon, presented in the Bijoux de Diamants collection in 1932.

On the back side of the medal, letters of the House’s name are revealed in a play of light and shadow. Crafted with a laser engraving technique borrowed from traditional watchmaking expertise, the letters endlessly roll across the surface like a bas-relief.
