Since 2023, CHANEL is Major Patron of the Paris Opera and of the Opening Gala of the dance seasons since 2018.
In Kuala Lumpur with the Paris Opera

Major Patron of the Paris Opera since 2023, CHANEL is proud to support this major dance institution for its tour in Kuala Lumpur where Paris Opera dancers gave two representations on 18th and 19th of November.
On this occasion and as Founding Patron of the Paris Opera Junior Ballet, CHANEL imagined the costumes of the dancers aged between 18 and 23 for their performances in the ballet “Eternal Rift” in Kuala Lumpur, choreographed by Julian Nicosia.
The Paris Opera Junior Ballet, created in 2024, is a new company with dancers recruited through competition for a two-year professional training contract. Envisaged as a hothouse for young talents, the Paris Opera Junior Ballet addresses several challenges: diversifying the profiles of dancers, promoting their professional integration, and strengthening the notion of openness to audiences through tours and outreach activities, all while continuing the Paris Opera’s three-century-old savoir-faire. Throughout their training, the young artists will deepen their mastery of the Paris Opera’s classical and contemporary repertoire and gain stage experience in performances at home and on tour in France and abroad.
Other ballets from the repertoire were performed by the Junior Ballet alongside Étoile dancers Sae-Eun Park and Roxane Stojanov, Premier danseur Francesco Mura, and Sujet Antonio Conforti: Allegro Brillante by George Balanchine, À La Manière De... by Jean-Guillaume Bart, Gisele’s Act II “pas de deux”, and Mi Favorita by José Martinez.
By supporting the Paris Opera Junior Ballet, CHANEL continues its commitment to the next generations of talents and strengthens its ties with dance.

Opening Gala 2023
CHANEL is proud to be accompanying the Opening Gala of the Paris Opera 2023/2024 dance season at the Palais Garnier. On this occasion, the House specially designed costumes for the ballet imagined by choreographer Nicolas Paul in which Étoiles dancers Amandine Albisson, Valentine Colasante and Hannah O’Neill perform to the “Quintette pour vents et piano” by composer André Caplet. This partnership celebrates the links between CHANEL and Dance, forged by Gabrielle Chanel in the early 20th century when she created the costumes for “Le Train Bleu” in 1924.

CHANEL reaffirms its support to the institution on the occasion of the Opening Gala of the 2021/2022 dance season.
In collaboration with the Opera’s own ateliers and the embroiderer Lesage, CHANEL created the ten costumes which will accompany the Étoile dancers year after year, at the opening of each season, during the Défilé du Ballet. For this year’s edition, the House also designed the decor of the Grand Staircase of the Palais Garnier.
