Davone Tines
Sångare och skapare
Davone Tines (född i Virginia, bosatt i Baltimore i USA) är en sångare, skapare och kurator som arbetar som basbaryton inom teater och opera.
Kraften i hans röst och hans ovanliga framträdanden tänjer på den klassiska musikvärldens gränser.
Tines kombinerar opera, popmusik, spirituell musik och gospelmusik för att skildra en djupt personlig berättelse om uthållighet och mänsklig kontakt.
Han gjorde sin debut på Carnegie Hall i New York med Recital No.1: MASS (2022). Han spelade även fångvaktaren i David Langs Prisoner of the State (2020) på The Barbican i London, och var en av skaparna till och skådespelarna i The Black Clown (2019). Detta scenframträdande baserades på Langston Hughes dikt och framfördes på The Lincoln Center i New York.
Han tilldelas även Sphinx Medal of Excellence år 2020, utsågs till National Education Association Human and Civil Rights Awards Honoree år 2020, och erhöll Lincoln Center’s Emerging Artist Award år 2018. Han utsågs till en Next Generation Leader av Time Magazine 2019.
Tines uppträder över hela världen och gästade nyligen New York Philharmonic och Los Angeles Philharmonic, L’Auditori i Barcelona samt Bold Tendencies och The Barbican i London. I april 2024 gör han sin debut på Metropolitan Opera i New York.
