The choice of Dakar to present the 2022/23 Métiers d’art CHANEL – DAKAR collection is the result of meetings over the past three years between Virginie Viard and choreographers, directors, musicians and writers, all together with friends of the House, who are the plural inspiration behind this journey.
A 1970s spirit characterises the 2022/23 Métiers d'art CHANEL – DAKAR collection. The silhouettes riff on a series of tight flared trousers styled with tunic tops, column knit dresses, high-waist trousers, oversized knits and platform shoes. The creations vibrate with a profusion of deep, warm colours, abundant, intricately worked tweeds and geometric embroideries by the Maisons d’art of CHANEL.
Ambassadors and friends of the House at the show
Nana Komatsu, Lyna Khoudri, Karidja Touré and Pharrell Williams share their first impressions on the 2022/23 Métiers d'art CHANEL – DAKAR collection.

A profusion of colour and vivid motifs inspired by the energy of the 1970s are mixed with the emblematic codes of the House – camellias, intertwined pearls, abundant jewelled buttons and dazzling sequins, – reinvented by Virginie Viard in a creative dialogue with the artisans of CHANEL's Maisons d’art.
