The video starts with the CHANEL Fine Jewellery logo, it then displays the title of the video “N°5 Collection The Flowers”. Inspired by the flowers of the N°5 perfume, the pieces appear one after the other, shown in their entirety and rotating from top to bottom: a ring, two brooches and a pair of earrings. Using close-ups to show the stones on each creation, we can then see the smaller details of the different pieces. The video ends with the CHANEL Fine Jewellery logo.

The Flowers

“The flowers are like an escapade to the fields of Grasse.”

— Patrice Leguéreau

The olfactory formula of N°5 is a heady mix of May Rose, Ylang-Ylang and delicate Night-Blooming Jasmine, and has remained unchanged for a century, since the creation of the fragrance. Experienced through their potent perfume while their physical beauty remains unseen, these flowers, nurtured by the temperate conditions in Grasse, France, now blossom in the imagination of High Jewellery.

CHANEL High Jewellery ring - The Flowers

To begin, Patrice Leguéreau, Director of the Fine Jewellery Creation Studio, paints sweeping watercolours that establish movement and colour. Then he refines the design with a technique of gouache paintings so detailed, they reveal light reflecting off gemstones like droplets of dew on petals. The floral volumes are then expressed in wax, a voluminous maquette before the blooms take shape in precious materials. These flowers bloom at the hands of the High Jewellery artisans, who implement masterly savoir-faire to achieve lifelike dimension.

N°5 COLLECTION The Flowers

A film about Savoir-faire: The Flowers

The film starts with the CHANEL Fine Jewellery logo, followed by the title “N°5 Collection The Flowers”. Patrice Leguéreau, director of the CHANEL Fine Jewellery Creative Studio, is working on moulds for creations in the N°5 Fine Jewellery collection. We see drawings of the different pieces that are used to support the creations. We also see shots of the different flowers which came together to create the N°5 perfume and which have inspired different pieces in the collection. The video ends with the CHANEL Fine Jewellery logo.

The olfactory notes of N°5 are inextricably linked with the visual motifs of another High Jewellery collection, Bijoux de Diamants, the cosmos-inspired pieces created by Gabrielle Chanel in 1932. The magic of this synergy inspired Patrice Leguéreau’s creativity, seamlessly fusing present and past. Night-Blooming Jasmine, with its five illuminated petals, dazzles in diamonds like the cosmic stars. Ylang-Ylang claims the form of the sun, bursting forth in golden rays that bathe the May Rose, whose name represents the icon of the fragrance, and the forms of the celestial bodies that nurture flowers from the heavens.
