COMPOSITION

SYCOMORE – Mademoiselle's roots. A woody eau de parfum where deep smoky notes and incisive vetiver combine with vanilla and cedar notes, for a fragrance steeped in authenticity.

INSPIRATION

In reference to this towering, age-old tree, the fragrance draws inspiration from memories of Gabrielle Chanel's childhood, spent in the age-old volcanic lands of Auvergne.

Not for me unfortunately. I would love another fragrance from the Exclusifs range, I ordered this and tried the sample before I committed to buy the bottle. On first spray my initial thoughts were "aftershave", then when it had settled, the fragrance reminded me of an incense stick. The dry down was somewhat of a sweet antiseptic smell. I find the fragrance to be too masculine for me and I have returned the unopened full bottle

It's very sweet but beautiful, having worn Chanel since 16 & now 64 I must say it's important to find the right perfume. This wouldn't suit many people but it's perfect for me!

HEAVENLY SMELL, WEAK PERFORMANCE. This is hands down the best vetiver fragrance I have had the pleasure of smelling. The juniper berries, combined with pink pepper and aldehydes give a beautiful fresh opening, which provides a bit of elevation for the vetiver and tobacco notes in the mid and base. The vetiver is clean, fresh and masculine without smelling damp, dirty or dry. The tobacco adds a touch of dryness and helps to add a slight bit of earthiness and depth to the composition Unfortunately, the fragrance lacks projection. I get about 15-30 minutes of soft projection (1-2ft) before the fragrance becomes a weak skin scent. Despite this, however, I will only dock one point off for the lack of performance due to the absolutely stunning composition and technical prowess of the scent. This is truly a divine scent that will stay in my lineup for years to come. Hopefully, maceration of my February 2023 batch (8401) bottle will make the scent last longer, or that the fragrance gets refomulated to improve on that part. Thank you, Mr Jacques Polge, for your service at Chanel and for blessing us with fragrances as well crafted as this.

Your perfumes never disappoint me! I wore No5 on my wedding day 45 years ago and I still do! No19 and Gabrielle are my favourite summer perfumes, Coco and Coco Mademoiselle remain winter favourites also! More recently for me, Le Lion, as she and I both share the same star sign, and now Sycomore, a new fragrance for me to try named after the tree! Coco Chanel once said,” Elegance is not possible without perfume! It is the unseen, unforgettable, ultimate accessory!” I think she was quite possibly right!!

We hope that you will be delighted with your order. However, if you wish to return the Product(s), you can return all or part of your order within 30 calendar days from the date of receipt.
