Aska Yamashita, artistic director of the embroidery atelier Montex founded in 1939, is Joana Preiss' guest in the latest series of podcasts. They discussed the history of the House, whose exceptional heritage of fine craft techniques can be drawn upon to create unique embroidery work. Aska Yamashita also talked about the creative dialogue between the CHANEL studio and Montex, which enables the continuous innovation to achieve such technical feats as the use of Rhodoïd strips to suggest the freight containers on the docks of Hamburg in the Paris-Hamburg 2017/18 collection.
