"LA TOUR EIFFEL" BY ROBERT DELAUNAY :
SHOW INVITATION

To illustrate the invitation to the Fall-Winter 2017/18 Haute Couture show, Karl Lagerfeld chose a 1926 painting of "La Tour Eiffel" by Robert Delaunay. The Cubist work expressed the artist's resistance to mainstream artistic opinion of the day, which wanted to see the tower demolished.

The Eiffel Tower has become a symbol of avant-garde modernity and a source of inspiration for countless artists who still use it as a model.
