The 'You Are Faust' exhibition at the Kunsthalle museum in Munich invites visitors to identify with the characters in Goethe's famous play, and to let Faust, Mephistopheles, and Marguerite guide them through this literary work that marked the 19th century. Over the last two centuries, artists worldwide have produced work inspired by 'Faust', from Eugène Delacroix to Charles Gounod, Max Beckmann, Sigmar Polke, Martin Scorsese, Anselm Kiefer, Robert Mapplethorpe, Peter Stein and Karl Lagerfeld. Photographs of Claudia Schiffer from a photo-novella were taken by CHANEL's artistic director and are on display.
