MARINE VACTH
L'EXPRESS DIX

"For me, the CHANEL story is a big and important one. It's about liberation from the corset, and it's a symbol of French elegance and the independent woman who's active and sporty," says French actress Marine Vacth in an interview published in the latest issue of "L'Express diX." The new CHANEL ambassador wears the Cruise collection in this story by the photographer Serge Lebon. The actress also talked about her next role in Joan Chemla's upcoming first feature, "Si tu voyais son cœur," to be released on January 10, 2018.

The Cruise 2017/18 collection is available in boutiques and on chanel.com

MADAME D'ORA
RETROSPECTIVE IN HAMBURG

From December 21, the Museum of Arts and Crafts in Hamburg (MKG) is hosting the world’s first retrospective of the Austrian photographer Dora Kallmus, who worked under the pseudonym Madame d’Ora. Part of the artistic scene in Paris in the 1920s, she was a pioneer of fashion photography, at a time when photos were starting to replace illustrations in magazines.

In Vienna and Paris, she photographed members of the bohemian set and the bourgeoisie, who recognized her fresh approach and less static portraits. Her eclectic, cosmopolitan work echoes the avant-garde trends of the period, as reflected in her portraits of Gabrielle Chanel and photos of the designer’s collections, which are shown in this retrospective. The exhibition will also feature original prints and period costumes, including one designed by Gabrielle Chanel.
