THE CAMELLIA
THROUGH THE EYES OF JIYOUNG LEE

Seen in numerous creations of the House, Gabrielle Chanel’s favorite flower, the camellia was recreated in glass by South Korean artist Jiyoung Lee for Mademoiselle Privé Seoul.

The subtle translucent layers of the sculpture conceal the details of the orange inner layers in the center that symbolize creativity and energy. The combination of solid glass, complex internal structure, and hand-finished surface reflects CHANEL's craftmanship.

Thanks to Clara Scremini Gallery, modern glass and ceramic expert.

AT THE D MUSEUM

The setting of the new edition of Mademoiselle Privé Seoul blends in the architecture of the D Museum in Hannam Dong neighbourhood. BLOOMING PARIS

Eiffel Tower embroideries stand out against black tulle and flower patterns for a playful after-dark mood. Karl Lagerfeld's design is an allegory of the city of light where the Paris Cosmopolite 2016/17 Métiers d’Art collection was first presented.

ART AND MATERIALS

"There is always a creative dynamic between the Studio and the skill sets at the CHANEL and Maisons d'Art workshops working on my collections. As the look develops, the embroideries, details, and refinements take on a new dimension". Karl Lagerfeld

The collection is now in boutiques and on chanel.com.
