CHANEL places the utmost importance on the quality of the materials which make up your watch. Special care and maintenance will allow your watch to look its best and function properly for longer.
An automatic watch should be manually wound after an inactive period of about three weeks to avoid the oil in the movement from drying out.
The self-winding mechanical movement winds itself with the movement of the wrist. A poorly fitting bracelet can lead to a loss of autonomy, therefore it is important to ensure that your watch is correctly sized.
When the watch is not worn, it has a 3 day power reserve.
Beyond this margin of autonomy, the watch will need to be manually wound to ensure a full power reserve.
Even though mechanical movements are fitted with the means to absorb shock, they are still relatively fragile.
It is therefore recommended to avoid wearing your watch while undertaking any “high impact” activities, such as playing golf or tennis, where repeated shocks can deregulate or even damage the watch mechanism.
