The Colours Of
Mademoiselle Privé Tokyo

The Mademoiselle Privé exhibition in Tokyo is articulated around five sequences staged over two floors, each one based on an emblematic part of Gabrielle Chanel’s apartment at 31 rue Cambon in Paris.

Passing through one chromatic ambiance to another, the exhibition brings together all the integral parts of CHANEL’s aesthetic vocabulary: white for the staircase, beige for the sofa, black for the dining room, red for the writing desk and gold for the fireplace.

Mademoiselle’s apartment is a place of inspiration into the creative worlds of CHANEL. Its atmosphere can be seen as an integral part of the House’s aesthetic vocabulary magnified by Karl Lagerfeld and Virginie Viard.

The exhibition opens its doors at the B&C Hall-Tennoz in Tokyo from October 19th to December 1st.

Artistic Collaboration
With Sofia Coppola

Director Sofia Coppola, a loyal friend of the House for many years, has started an artistic collaboration with CHANEL. A new chapter of her creative conversation with Virginie Viard, Artistic Director of Fashion collections, is a video homage to Gabrielle Chanel on the occasion of the upcoming Mademoiselle Privé exhibition in Tokyo.

The story of Sofia Coppola and CHANEL began when Karl Lagerfeld offered her an internship working alongside him in the Creation Studio. From this fashion experience, the teenage Sofia Coppola held on to the youthful allure the designer had imbued into CHANEL and has been a regular guest at the shows ever since.
