31 RUE CAMBON, PARIS
RECONSTRUCTION IN HONG KONG

The "Mademoiselle Privé" exhibition in Hong Kong opens with a reminder of the facade of Number 31 rue Cambon in Paris. This iconic location is home not only to the CHANEL boutique but also to the studio where Karl Lagerfeld creates the collections in close collaboration with the ateliers. On the upper floor, accessed via the famous mirror-lined staircase, is Gabrielle Chanel’s apartment. This particular layout of the space, connecting the private apartment, the ateliers, and the boutique, has remained unchanged since its design in 1918 by Gabrielle Chanel.
