Fine Jewelry CollectionCHANCE DE CHANEL
For Gabrielle Chanel, luck wasn’t a matter of chance, it was a state of mind. Inspired by this singular vision, the CHANEL Fine Jewelry Creation Studio has designed new reversible medallions reminiscent of good-luck charms, for those who believe in their destiny and make it a reality. Expertly crafted down to the smallest detail, each piece is the embodiment of exceptional savoir-faire, evident on both the front and the back. On one side, the House’s emblems meet, highlighted by 18K yellow gold, diamonds and natural black jade: materials meticulously selected for their symbolic significance as well as their preciousness. On the other side, Mademoiselle’s signature is expressed for the first time on a fine jewelry creation.
Plucked from the dandy’s jacket in 1913, the camellia is a flower without scent or thorns that often appears across the House’s creations. Elegance without artifice according to Mademoiselle.
Mademoiselle’s favorite number, 5 also corresponds to the essence she chose in 1921 to become the House’s legendary fragrance.
A symbol of courage, power and loyalty, the lion exudes a solar radiance. It also represents Mademoiselle’s astrological sign of Leo and was a protective talisman throughout her life.
A sign of hopes and of dreams, the comet was the House’s first jewelry icon, presented in the BIJOUX DE DIAMANTS collection in 1932.
On the back of the medallion, the letters of CHANEL are revealed in a play of light and shadow. Created using a laser engraving technique borrowed from traditional watchmaking, they dance across the surface like a bas-relief.
Synonymous with prosperity, abundance and good fortune, wheat is at the heart of the CHANEL Fine Jewelry universe: a metaphor for creativity constantly renewed.
