Ambassadors and friends of the House including Keira Knightley, Naomi Campbell, and Hio Miyazawa gathered at the V&A South Kensington in London to celebrate the legacy of Gabrielle Chanel on the occasion of the opening of the exhibition ‘Gabrielle Chanel. Fashion Manifesto’. Following their visit, they shared their impressions on this retrospective, the first of its kind to be presented in the United Kingdom.

Having premiered in Paris in 2020, the exhibition created in partnership with the Palais Galliera, the Fashion Museum of the City of Paris, and with the support of CHANEL, is now open at the V&A South Kensington, where it will run through February 25th, 2024.

Supported by CHANEL and presented at the 80th edition of the Venice Film Festival, Sofia Coppola's latest feature film tells the story of Priscilla Presley, the woman who once shared Elvis Presley's life. In this biopic, Sofia Coppola depicts their relationship and tells the story of Priscilla's passage into adulthood, her quest for identity and independence.

Greatly inspired by the allure and personality of Priscilla Presley, played by actress Cailee Spaeny, the filmmaker paid a truly Hollywood homage to her sensitive, rock'n'roll elegance. In this way, House ambassador Sofia Coppola asked CHANEL to create the wedding dress in the scene of her wedding, reinterpreting the one Priscilla actually wore on her wedding day. This embroidered gown is inspired by the spirit of CHANEL's Spring-Summer 2020 Haute Couture collection, imagined by Virginie Viard and created within the Haute Couture and Métiers d'art ateliers.

"Priscilla" will be playing in cinemas on October 27th 2023.

The House of CHANEL has collaborated on one of the summer’s most-anticipated film, Barbie, directed and written by Oscar nominee Greta Gerwig and produced by and starring Oscar nominee Margot Robbie, who is a House ambassador, as the global icon.

Five silhouettes will be seen on screen, made available by the House with the support of Virginie Viard. Oscar-winning costume designer and friend of the House, Jacqueline Durran, was given a selection of outfits from the Ready-to-Wear, COCO BEACH and COCO NEIGE collections. The five featured silhouettes were chosen to highlight the Barbie character as she moves through her journey in the film.

Breaking with convention, “Barbie” is an ambitious project, using humour and fantasy to tackle topical issues with irreverence and intelligence. The feature film is currently playing in cinemas.

On the occasion of the summer edition of the Rendez-vous littéraires rue Cambon Literary Rendezvous at rue Cambon, held alongside the “Rencontres de la photographie d’Arles” with writers Alice Ferney and Muriel Barbery, ambassador and spokesperson for the House Charlotte Casiraghi unveiled her summer books selection. These four works follow women’s destinies and explore what they have in common.
