CHANEL is pleased to celebrate the first edition of CHANEL AND CINEMA – TOKYO LIGHTS in Paris with the screening of the project’s award-winning short films at Le Saint Germain des Prés, an iconic cinema of the Nouvelle Vague supported by CHANEL.

Launched by CHANEL in 2024 and hosted by filmmaker and friend of the House Hirokazu Koreeda, this unique mentorship programme aims to support up-and-coming filmmakers, offering them the opportunity to express their creativity, boldness, and inventiveness.

With this initiative, CHANEL encourages the expression of new voices on the international stage. True to the visionary spirit of Gabrielle Chanel, the House reaffirms its commitment to supporting emerging cinematographic creation and passing down knowledge.

NOUVELLES VAGUES

True to its commitment to cinema, CHANEL is proud to renew its support to the Biarritz Film Festival – NOUVELLES VAGUES of which it is Major partner since its creation in 2023. This partnership echoes the long-lasting ties between the House and Biarritz, where Gabrielle Chanel opened her couture house in 1915.

This event honours youth through a selection of films that explore young people’s stories, dreams and realities, and reflects CHANEL’s ongoing commitment to cinematic creation.

On the occasion of the Cannes Film Festival, a landmark event for international cinema, CHANEL supports cinematographic creation and accompanies ambassadors and friends of the House on the red carpet. Actress and House ambassador Marion Cotillard plays one of the leading roles in the film Roma Elastica, directed by Bertrand Mandico, supported by CHANEL and nominated in the official selection this year. Presented during the closing night of the Semaine de la Critique, Félix de Givry’s Adieu monde cruel was also supported by CHANEL.
