This full leather look in the Paris-New York collection offered an opportunity to illustrate the truly innovative spirit of Karl Lagerfeld and the Studio, who presented a whole range of jackets, pants, and accessories in embossed leathers that mimicked the idiosyncratic crocodile pattern. With CHANEL’s commitment to no longer WORK WITH exotic skins, the finesse of this new technique showcases the modern possibilities of the Maison's unparalleled expertise.
Photographed by Karl Lagerfeld, the Paris - New York 2018/19 Métiers d’art collection underlines CHANEL’s finest craftsmanship through intricate references to ancient Egyptian civilisation and and the city of New York, now available in boutiques.
An exclusive Lesage workshop and exhibition will take place at the CHANEL flagship boutique in Seoul from June 14th. Visitors will be able to discover the unique savoir-faire of the artisans who create exceptional embroideries for each Métiers d’art collection.
In the ateliers of the Métiers d'art House of Desrues, the scarab beetle, cast in a gold seemingly burnished by time, was forged into buttons and added to this season's rendition of the iconic CHANEL tweed suit. As the season's leitmotif, the scarab punctuated the collection on belt buckles, earrings and minaudières.
