Featuring soft rounded shoulders and a narrow skirt, the Haute Couture CHANEL tweed suit is revisited in a vibrant orange hue, illuminated with the added sparkle of jewelled buttons. Setting off its fluorescent hue, a raised collar is covered with a mass of flowers and ribbons in pleated organza.
Margot Robbie, Caroline De Maigret and Ayami Nakajo were among the guests attending the Fall-Winter 2019/20 Haute Couture show in Paris on Tuesday.
Under the nave of the Grand Palais, models walked with their hands thrust deep into their pockets, matching the carefree tone of the collection. This resulted in a relaxed look that contrasted the clean, structured lines of the designs with elongated, slender silhouettes.
Tops, bustiers, bolero jackets and coats in the collection feature rich embroideries, shimmering compositions of beads, sequins and stones — a tribute to the savoir-faire of the CHANEL Haute Couture ateliers and CHANEL’s Métiers d’art. These designs in sparkling hues create the illusion of multicoloured tweeds. Swirling, flowery motifs in relief add colour and texture to the palette.
For the show's finale, model Vittoria Ceretti appeared in a light, flowing pyjamas in the carefree spirit of the collection. A finely pleated tiered robe is worn over a gossamer ensemble in pale pink satin. Its pleated flounces are adorned with escaping feathers, created and embroidered one by one, illustrating the savoir-faire of the CHANEL Haute Couture ateliers and CHANEL’s Métiers d’art.
