FIVE CARE TIPS

Five was Gabrielle Chanel’s favourite number and has a special significance at CHANEL. Here are our five recommendations to keep your CHANEL leather goods in best condition.

Preserve the elegant lines by not overfilling your leather bag. Avoid prolonged contact between light and dark colours to minimise the risk of any colour bleeding onto the leather or clothing. More advice in boutique.

Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight, artificial light, and moisture. Should your bag come into contact with water, we recommend drying it carefully with an absorbent non-pilling cloth. More advice in boutique.

Use a soft cloth and take care to avoid any care products that may degrade the finish of your bag. To help reduce the appearance of marks on the surface of lambskin leather, try rubbing in a circular motion. More advice in boutique.

Take care to store your bag upright in its pouch, ideally wrapped in tissue paper that covers any straps or chains. More advice in boutique.

Appreciate the natural patina inherent to the life of your bag. Day after day it will reveal a new aspect of its beauty, and of its history... and yours. More advice in boutique.

SPECIFIC MATERIALS

LAMBSKIN LEATHER

Our lambskin leathers are treated as little as possible to preserve their natural suppleness and unique softness and feel. Please take particular care with this type of leather. To help reduce the appearance of marks on the surface of lambskin leather, try rubbing in a circular motion.

EMBROIDERY, SEQUINS AND RHINESTONES

We recommend avoiding prolonged contact and repeated friction with delicate fabrics such as woollens, silks and tweeds.
