La Pausa: the house built for Gabrielle Chanel on land bought in 1928 above the village of Roquebrune. It is elegant, with its colonnades of cloisters, and cheerful, with its green shutters. The distant Italian coast can be seen on the horizon. To evoke its luxury and simplicity, Jacques Polge unraveled all the facets and contrasts of the Iris flower, for a scent that is both earthy and powdery, radiant and secret.
