Man’s fire created ceramic, a precious material from our technological golden age. CHANEL processes this treasured stone with techniques until now reserved for only the most precious gems. Diamonds, colored stones and ceramic: all require the same precise craftsmanship on the same workshop tables. For the first time in the world, the same respect and cutting techniques are being used to craft these 724 grains of black light into baguette cuts: high-tech ceramic reflects the challenge of a new luminosity.

CHANEL decided to enhance this J12 with a self-winding three-hand Haute Horlogerie movement CHANEL – AP 3125 in partnership with AUDEMARS PIGUET, one of the most prestigious Swiss watchmakers. Out of the fusion of the AP3120 movement and J12 high-tech ceramic comes the 3125 movement with its balance bridge and black high-tech ceramic clad rotor, both redesigned by CHANEL.
