In November 1932, Mademoiselle Chanel exhibited her first Fine Jewelry collection, soberly entitled "Bijoux de Diamants", at her mansion in the Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris. Fascinated by diamonds' brilliance and purity, of which she wrote that they "represented the highest value in the smallest volume," she imagined a succession of sumptuous and innovative jewels. A combination of reproduced and reinterpreted pieces, today's collection evokes the theme of art deco in its ribbons, bands, black and white tones, or delicate threads of diamond.
